Abstract
In diabetes mellitus a breakdown of the glomerular capillary blood barrier with the development of proteinuria is usually accepted as marking the onset of clinical diabetes nephrophathy. Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus characterized by persistent proteinuria, hypertension and deterioration of renal function. Clinical proteinuria becomes evident, abnormally increase rate of the urinary albumin excretion but not yet detectable with routine method of dipstick and acid precipitation test. Microalbuminuria is a condition characterized by increase urinary excretion of albumin. We compared between coated tube method and PEG method for diagnosis of microalbuminuria. The result showed that coated tube method and PEG method was highly correlated.(r=0.98)
